This bill requires the State to reimburse school districts for the costs of transporting homeless students. Under current law, the district of residence is responsible for paying the transportation costs for homeless students. This bill amends the law to state that the State, rather than the district of residence, will reimburse the district that provides transportation to and from school for homeless students.
