This bill requires the State to reimburse school districts for the costs of transporting homeless students to and from school. Under current law, the district of residence for a homeless student is responsible for paying these transportation costs. The bill amends the law to state that the State, rather than the district, will cover the costs of transporting homeless students to their school of attendance, whether that is the district of residence, the district of last attendance, or the district where the student is temporarily living.
