This bill establishes a task force to make recommendations on establishing statewide certification and updating training standards for sexual assault counselors. The task force will be comprised of representatives from various organizations and agencies, as well as a sexual assault survivor. The task force will make recommendations on updating the statutory definition of "rape crisis center" and "sexual assault counselor," the curriculum and training requirements for certification, the feasibility of establishing licensure for rape crisis centers, and the feasibility of providing continuing education and college credits for training programs. The task force is required to submit a report with their findings and proposed legislation within 12 months of the bill's effective date.
