This bill establishes the Clinical Trial Access and Education Fund to provide grants to eligible applicants, such as medical schools, non-profit organizations, healthcare providers, and local health departments, to offer services that facilitate patient access to and education on clinical trials for life-threatening or disabling conditions. The services funded may include transportation and lodging assistance, patient outreach and education, and navigation services to help patients enroll in and participate in clinical trials. The bill also sets requirements for the reimbursement of ancillary costs associated with clinical trial participation, and requires grantees to report annually on the use of funds and efforts to increase patient access to clinical trials.
