This bill establishes the Clinical Trial Access and Education Fund, which will provide grants to eligible applicants (such as medical schools, non-profit organizations, healthcare providers, and government entities) to offer services that facilitate access to and education about clinical trials for patients with life-threatening or disabling conditions or diseases. The services funded may include transportation and lodging assistance, patient outreach and education, and navigation support to help patients enroll in and participate in clinical trials. The bill sets forth application requirements and institutional review board standards for the reimbursement program and requires grantees to file annual reports on the use of funds.
