This bill requires medical assistance, including physician and surgical services such as plastic surgery, to be provided to victims of domestic violence to care for and treat any scarring or scar tissue resulting from the domestic violence incident. The bill also directs the Commissioner of Health to establish rules for acceptable forms of proof of a domestic violence incident, which will take effect immediately upon the bill becoming law. The bill itself will take effect 120 days after it becomes law.
