This bill requires that medical assistance, including physician and plastic surgery services, be provided to victims of domestic violence to care for and treat any scarring or scar tissue resulting from the domestic violence incident. The bill defines domestic violence based on section 459-a of the social services law. It also requires the commissioner of health to establish rules for acceptable forms of proof of an incident of domestic violence, with the bill taking effect 120 days after it becomes law.
