This bill amends the Election Law to specify the time periods within which the board of elections must mail or deliver absentee ballots after receiving an application for such a ballot. The bill requires the board to mail or deliver the ballot no later than the 46th day before the election if the application was received at least 60 days before the election, and within a shorter time period if the application was received closer to the election. The bill also requires the board to make every reasonable effort to mail or deliver the ballot on the same day the application is received if it is timely submitted after the 7th day before the election.
