This bill amends the Alaska Statutes to change the conflict of interest provisions for members of the Board of Fisheries and the Board of Game. The key provisions are: 1) It allows members of the Board of Fisheries or the Board of Game to deliberate and participate in matters where they have a personal or financial interest relating to a business or organization involving fish or game resources, as long as they disclose the interest. However, they cannot vote on such matters if a determination is made that their further involvement would result in a violation of the conflict of interest laws. 2) It modifies the general conflict of interest law to specify that the prohibition on taking or withholding official action to affect a matter in which the public officer has a personal or financial interest does not apply to members of the Board of Fisheries or the Board of Game, as provided in the new subsection (c). 3) The bill takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
