This bill appropriates $17.5 million in emergency funding for the state of Minnesota to address the COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, it provides $9 million for emergency services grants to fund housing options, hygiene and cleaning supplies, and staffing for individuals experiencing homelessness who have been exposed to COVID-19 or are experiencing respiratory illness. It also appropriates $4.3 million to establish and maintain isolation spaces for suspected or confirmed COVID-19-positive individuals experiencing homelessness who do not require hospitalization. Finally, it allocates $4.2 million to increase room and board rates under the state's housing support program by 10.7% to help providers maintain access to services and comply with COVID-19 health and safety guidelines. This funding is available until June 30, 2021, or 60 days after the expiration of the state's COVID-19 emergency declaration, whichever occurs earlier.
