This bill amends the Government Code to require local governments to submit a written certification of compliance with cybersecurity training requirements when applying for certain grants. It also requires state agencies to include in their strategic plans a written certification of their compliance with cybersecurity training requirements. The bill defines "local government" as having the meaning assigned by Section 2054.003 of the Government Code. It further provides that a local government that is determined to have not complied with the cybersecurity training requirements must pay back the grant amount and is ineligible for another grant for two years.
