This bill amends state laws to require local governments to comply with cybersecurity training requirements in order to receive state grants. It also requires state agencies to include a written certification of their compliance with cybersecurity training requirements in their strategic plans. The bill defines "local government" as having the meaning assigned by Section 2054.003 of the Government Code, and it applies to grant applications submitted by local governments on or after September 1, 2021, and to strategic plans submitted by state agencies on or after January 1, 2022.
