This bill repeals section 171-8.5 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes, which established the Kokee State Park Advisory Council. The Kokee State Park Advisory Council was created to review and assist in updating and revising the Kokee State Park master plan, which was completed in 2014. The Department of Land and Natural Resources has determined that the Council has fulfilled its purpose, as it has not met for over five years. The purpose of this bill is to eliminate the Kokee State Park Advisory Council as part of the state's efforts to reduce expenditures and identify programs that are no longer necessary or of lesser priority.
