This bill removes the prohibition on the possession and use of firearm silencers in New York. It amends the Environmental Conservation Law and the Penal Law to allow individuals in lawful possession of a device that will silence, suppress, or muffle the sound of a firearm to use such a device when hunting any game for which they are licensed, provided the host firearm is allowed. The bill also removes references to "firearm silencers" from the list of prohibited items under the Penal Law.
