This Resolution requests the Department of Education to conduct a study comparing classroom supply expenses for teachers in counties with populations under two hundred thousand to those in larger counties, recognizing that teachers in less populated areas often face higher costs for essential supplies due to limited access to discount retailers and may use personal funds. The Department is also asked to submit a report of its findings and recommendations to the Legislature and to reimburse teachers in these less populated counties for reasonable and necessary personal expenditures on classroom supplies for the 2021-2022 school year.
