This Concurrent Resolution requests the Auditor, a government official responsible for examining public accounts and performance, to study the social and financial impacts of requiring health insurance to cover the cost of hearing aids, as proposed in a specific bill (S.B. The Auditor is asked to consider the number of people in Hawaii who might need hearing aids, current practices and costs for hearing aid coverage by various entities like Medicare and private insurers, whether replacement frequency differs for children and adults, and the medical standards and technology related to hearing aids.
