This bill, the Gilt Edge Mine Conveyance Act, directs the Secretary of Agriculture to convey approximately 266 acres of National Forest System land within the Gilt Edge Mine Superfund Boundary to the State of South Dakota, if the State submits an offer to acquire the land for the market value determined by an appraisal conducted by the Secretary. The conveyance would be subject to valid existing rights and made by quitclaim deed, with the State paying all associated costs, including the appraisal and survey. The proceeds from the sale would be deposited into a fund to be used for the maintenance and improvement of land or administration facilities in the Black Hills National Forest in South Dakota. The bill also exempts the Secretary from providing any covenant or warranty for the environmental conditions of the land.
