This Resolution requests the University of Hawaii to provide a report detailing the Pamantasan Council's systemwide initiatives aimed at enhancing the status of Filipinos within the university system. The Pamantasan Council, whose name is derived from the Filipino word for "higher education," was established in 1987 to address the representation and academic standing of Filipinos at the University of Hawaii. The report should cover the council's efforts concerning curriculum development, as well as the representation and success of Filipino students, faculty, and staff, and should also include information about a 2019 appropriation and the council's resource and budgetary needs. This report is to be submitted to the Legislature before the start of the 2023 legislative session.
