This Resolution strongly condemns Russia's actions, including the indiscriminate bombing of cities and targeting of civilians, which have caused a severe humanitarian crisis and forced millions of Ukrainians to flee their homes, with many seeking refuge in neighboring European countries like Poland, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Moldova, some of which are struggling to cope with the influx. The Resolution urges the United States Congress to take concrete steps to address this crisis by increasing humanitarian aid and financial support to Ukraine and its neighboring countries, as well as by raising the U.S. Refugee Admissions and Refugee Resettlement Ceilings to accept more Ukrainian refugees and allocating additional funding for these resettlement efforts.
