This bill, the "No Pensions for Corrupt Politicians Act of 2021," would amend the United States Code to temporarily halt pension payments for members of Congress who are convicted of certain offenses. Specifically, it would prohibit individuals convicted of the specified offenses from receiving any annuity payments under the Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) or the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) between the date of sentencing and the date of their final conviction. However, if the conviction is later held to be invalid, the individual would receive the payments they would have otherwise been entitled to. This provision would only apply to convictions that occur after the date of the bill's enactment.
