This bill, the Storing CO2 and Lowering Emissions (SCALE) Act, aims to establish programs at the Department of Energy for carbon dioxide capture, transport, utilization, and storage. Authorizing a new commercialization program at the Department of Energy to provide funding for the development of new or expanded commercial large-scale carbon sequestration projects and associated carbon dioxide transport infrastructure. 4. Appropriating additional funding to the Environmental Protection Agency for the permitting of Class VI wells for the injection of carbon dioxide for geologic sequestration, as well as grants to states to establish and operate state underground injection control programs for these wells.
