This bill establishes a Vaccine Recipient Bill of Rights in Minnesota. It provides individuals the right to determine what is in their own best medical interest regarding obtaining or not obtaining vaccines without threat to their livelihood, ability to attend school, or freedom of movement. The bill requires healthcare providers to disclose the specific vaccine being administered and provide independent information about the vaccine to allow the individual to make an informed decision. It also allows individuals over 65 and dependent on others to consult with a knowledgeable, independent advocate before consenting to a vaccine. Furthermore, the bill prohibits employers from requiring healthcare providers to promote COVID-19 vaccines and prohibits private businesses from requiring or coercing individuals to obtain a vaccine, unless authorized or required by other law.
