This bill aims to ensure pay parity for county sheriffs' correction officers and jail officers in Massachusetts. The key provisions of the bill are: 1. County sheriffs' correction officers and jail officers will be re-titled as Correction Officer I, II, and III or Jail Officer I, II, and III, and their base salaries will be aligned with the corresponding salary grades in State Bargaining Unit 4 covering the Department of Correction job titles. 2. After the three-year period, Chapter 150E will fully apply to county sheriffs as it relates to correction officers and jail officers, including the negotiation of base salary rates with public employee organizations representing them.
