Bill Summary
Relative to baseline concussion testing for student athletes. Public Health.
AI Summary
This bill requires the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to create and maintain a mandatory baseline concussion test for all high school athletes enrolled in public or private schools subject to the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) rules. The schools must use this test to evaluate their high school athletes and share the results with the students, their parents/guardians (if under 18), the school's athletic director, coaches, trainers, and other athletic health personnel. The bill also requires any professionals who submit clearance for a student to return to play after a concussion to be trained in administering the baseline concussion test.
