This bill gives municipal governments control over the number of liquor licenses issued within their cities and towns. It amends Chapter 138 of the General Laws to allow the legislative body of each city or town that has voted to grant liquor licenses to determine the number of licenses issued under various sections, including seasonal licenses and licenses for farmer-wineries. The bill also repeals Sections 17A, 7B, and 17C of Chapter 138, which previously governed the number of licenses that could be issued. The existing number of licenses will remain in force until changed by the municipal legislative body under the new Section 17.
