This bill establishes a Commonwealth divorce task force to examine, evaluate, and analyze the system of divorce in Massachusetts, and make recommendations to improve its efficiency and fairness, and eliminate any adverse impacts on all parties affected by the system, including litigants, their children, attorneys, and the judges and staff of the probate and family court. The task force will consist of various members with knowledge and experience related to probate and family law, and will consider matters such as prenuptial agreements, mediation, division of assets, child custody, and the duration and efficiency of court proceedings. The task force will file a report with its findings and recommendations, including any draft legislation necessary, by June 31, 2022.
