AI Summary

This bill, the Amputation Reduction and Compassion Act of 2021 (or the ARC Act of 2021), aims to provide coverage for peripheral artery disease (PAD) screening tests without cost-sharing requirements for Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries, as well as individuals enrolled in group health plans and individual health insurance. The bill also establishes a PAD education program, requires the development of quality measures for nontraumatic lower-limb amputations, and disallows payment for certain amputations without prior anatomical testing services. Key provisions of the bill include defining eligible "at-risk" individuals for PAD screening, requiring Medicare and Medicaid coverage for such screening, and mandating that group health plans and insurers provide coverage for PAD screening without cost-sharing for at-risk enrollees.
