This bill requires the Director of the Division of Veterans' Healthcare Services in the Department of Military and Veterans' Affairs to have prior work experience in a clinical or long-term care facility setting. As used in the bill, "clinical" means directly pertaining to the observation, diagnosis, treatment, or rehabilitation of an individual in a hospital, long-term care facility, rehabilitation center, or other similar facility and not through research; and "long-term care facility" means a nursing home, assisted living residence, comprehensive personal care home, residential health care facility, or dementia care home licensed pursuant to current law.
