This bill authorizes the town of Millbury to grant an additional liquor license for the sale of all alcoholic beverages not to be consumed on the premises to Goretti Supermarkets, Inc. located at 1 Providence Street. The license is subject to all provisions of Chapter 138 of the General Laws, except for the limit on the number of licenses that can be granted. The licensing authority cannot approve the transfer of the license to a different location, but can grant it to a new applicant at the same location if the applicant is in good standing with the Department of Revenue and the Department of Unemployment Assistance. If the license is terminated, not renewed, or is no longer in use, it must be returned to the licensing authority, which can then grant it to a new applicant at the same location. The license must be issued within one year of the effective date of the act, but can be granted to a new applicant after that time. The licensee must also return their existing wine and malt beverages license upon receiving the new license.
