This bill extends the Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) program for one month, from June 30, 2021, to July 23, 2021. The TAA program provides benefits and reemployment services to workers who have lost their jobs due to increased imports or a shift in production to other countries. The bill also extends the Reemployment TAA program, which provides wage subsidies to older workers, and the TAA for Workers program, which provides training, employment and case management services, until July 23, 2021. The amendments made by this bill take effect on the earlier of the date of enactment or June 30, 2021, to ensure there is no lapse in the TAA programs.
