This bill, the "Treating Tribes and Counties as Good Neighbors Act," aims to modify the treatment of revenue from timber sale contracts and certain payments made by counties to the Secretary of Agriculture and the Interior under "good neighbor agreements." Specifically, it amends the Agricultural Act of 2014 to allow Indian tribes and counties, in addition to Governors, to retain and use the funds received from timber sales under these agreements to carry out authorized restoration services, either under the original agreement or under other good neighbor agreements. The bill applies to projects initiated before or after the date of enactment, as long as they were started after the passage of the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018.
