This bill, the American Grown Act, requires certain government agencies (the Executive Office of the President, the Department of Defense, and the Department of State) to only procure cut flowers and cut greens that are grown in the United States, including in States, the District of Columbia, U.S. territories and possessions, and areas under the jurisdiction of federally recognized Indian Tribes. The bill also places restrictions on how these agencies can accept gifts of cut flowers and cut greens that are not grown in the United States, requiring the agency to procure an additional cut flower or cut green that is grown in the U.S. to display alongside the gift.
