This bill removes the restrictions on the size and draw weight of crossbows used for hunting in the state of New York. Specifically, it removes requirements that crossbows must have a minimum limb width of 17 inches, a minimum peak draw weight of 100 pounds, and a maximum peak draw weight of 200 pounds, as well as a minimum overall length of 24 inches. The bill maintains the requirement that crossbows used for hunting must have a working safety on the trigger unit.
