This bill revises the employer contribution rates for the retiree health insurance subsidy and the required employer retirement contribution rates for each membership class of the Florida Retirement System. Specifically, the bill decreases the employer contribution rate for the retiree health insurance subsidy from 1.66% to 1.50% of the member's gross compensation, effective July 1, 2022. The bill also adjusts the required employer retirement contribution rates for the various membership classes of the Florida Retirement System, with some rates increasing and others decreasing. The Legislature finds that this act serves an important state interest in providing fair and adequate benefits to state and local government employees, officers, and retirees in an actuarially sound manner.
