Bill Summary
Relative to family child care disclosures
AI Summary
This bill amends Massachusetts law to require family child care home licensees who do not have liability insurance to: (1) notify the Department of Early Education and Care (the Department) and provide the reason for not having insurance, (2) post that fact in a conspicuous place in the home, and (3) provide written notice to each child's parent or guardian. The bill also requires the Department to promulgate regulations for a standard form for this notification and to post certain information on its website, such as the issuance of provisional licenses or fines. The bill specifies that the inability to secure liability coverage does not indemnify the licensee for damages due to negligence.
