This bill amends the New York City Building Code to require that sidewalk shed permits be renewed only if the commissioner determines the sidewalk shed is being used as part of an ongoing construction project. The bill defines an "ongoing construction project" as one where construction workers have utilized the sidewalk shed at least 10 days per month over the year preceding the permit renewal request. The bill also imposes a civil penalty of up to $1,000 on contractors or licensees who submit false or misleading documentation in support of a permit renewal.
