Bill Summary

Authorizing the town of Plainville to grant an additional license for the sale of alcoholic beverages

AI Summary

This bill authorizes the town of Plainville to grant an additional license for the sale of all alcoholic beverages, not to be drunk on the premises, to 13 Taunton Street Plainville LLC d/b/a Brothers Liquors. The license is subject to all the provisions of Chapter 138 of the General Laws, except for the limit on the number of licenses in Section 17. The licensing authority cannot approve the transfer of the license to a different location, but may grant it to a new applicant at the same location if the applicant is in good standing with the Department of Revenue and Department of Unemployment. If the license is terminated, fails to be renewed, or is cancelled or no longer in use, it must be returned to the licensing authority, which can then grant it to a new applicant at the same location within 3 years. All licenses granted under this bill must be issued within 1 year of the effective date of the act.
