This bill allows public bodies to conduct meetings by electronic means, either in whole or in part, regardless of whether there is a declared state of emergency, public health emergency, or state of local disaster emergency. The bill also allows public bodies to provide electronic notice of meetings in lieu of the adequate notice required under the "Senator Byron M. Baer Open Public Meetings Act" during a declared emergency period. The bill provides that any meeting conducted by electronic means must be open to the public in a manner consistent with the existing law. The Department of Community Affairs and the State Board of Education are authorized to adopt rules and regulations to effectuate the purposes of this bill.
