This bill establishes the Office of Global Competition Analysis to analyze U.S. leadership in technology and innovation sectors critical to national security and economic prosperity compared to other countries, particularly strategic competitors of the U.S. The Office will acquire and analyze data on critical technologies, innovation, and production capacity, and engage with the private sector. The priorities of the Office will be determined periodically by the Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy, the National Economic Council, and the National Security Council. The Office will have access to relevant information from federal agencies and can obtain commercially available information. The bill authorizes $20 million for the Office in fiscal year 2023.
