This bill, the Military Service Academy Foundation Support Act of 2022, would authorize the Secretary of a military department to provide certain support to a foundation that supports a Military Service Academy. Specifically, the bill would allow the Secretary to provide the use of facilities or equipment of the United States on an unreimbursed basis, as well as endorsement of the foundation, its events, or its activities, by certain high-ranking military officials. This support would be subject to limitations, such as ensuring it does not affect the ability of officials to carry out their duties fairly and objectively or compromise the integrity of any department programs. The Secretary would also be required to provide a briefing to Congress on the number of events or activities in which officials participated during the fiscal year.
