This bill, the Warfighter Brain Health Act of 2022, directs the Secretary of Defense to establish a comprehensive initiative called the "Warfighter Brain Health Initiative" to unify efforts and programs across the Department of Defense to improve the cognitive performance and brain health of members of the Armed Forces. The objectives of the initiative include enhancing, maintaining, and restoring the cognitive performance of service members through various activities such as monitoring brain health, identifying safety thresholds for blast pressure, modifying high-risk training and operational activities, and developing non-invasive medical devices for diagnosis and treatment of traumatic brain injury. The bill also requires the Secretary of Defense to include budget justification displays for the initiative in annual budget requests and to provide annual reports to Congress on the activities and progress made under the initiative.
