This bill authorizes the Commissioner of Transportation to conduct a study on airborne ultrafine particles (UFPs). The study will analyze the impacts of large commercial airports on UFPs, investigate the characteristics of UFPs (including their sources, distribution, and potential health effects), identify measures to reduce emissions from aircraft and airport operations, and address information gaps related to UFP exposure and mitigation. The Commissioner will coordinate with other state agencies and submit a report with recommendations to the Governor and state legislature within two years of the bill's effective date.
