This bill amends the environmental conservation law and the penal law to remove the prohibition on the possession and use of firearm silencers (also known as suppressors). The bill allows individuals who are lawfully in possession of a device that can silence, suppress, or muffle the sound of a firearm to use such a device when hunting game for which they are licensed, as long as the host firearm is allowed.
