Specifically, the bill adds several sections of the Controlled Substances Act, the Controlled Substances Import and Export Act, and other laws that involve cocaine base offenses to the definition of "covered offenses" under the First Step Act. Additionally, the bill clarifies that a motion under the First Step Act that was previously denied because the violation was not considered a "covered offense" can be reconsidered if the offense is now included in the expanded definition.
