This bill amends the education law to require the administration and instruction in preparation of the Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC) examination in the Chinese and Korean languages for pupils who are proficient in these languages and have limited English proficiency. The bill directs the Commissioner of Education to ensure that school districts make the TASC examination and related instructional materials available in Chinese and Korean, and that any notifications or correspondence regarding the TASC examination be provided in these languages as well. The bill also authorizes the Commissioner to promulgate rules or regulations, including entering into a contract to develop appropriate testing materials.
