This bill amends the education law to require the administration and instruction of the TASC (Test Assessing Secondary Completion) examination in the Chinese and Korean languages for students who are proficient in those languages and have limited English proficiency. The bill mandates that school districts make the TASC examination and preparation materials available in Chinese or Korean, and that any related notifications be provided in those languages as well. The bill also authorizes the Commissioner of Education to promulgate regulations, including entering into a contract with the American Council on Education to develop appropriate testing materials.
