This bill amends the Education Law to give the Board of Regents final approval authority over all proposed and renewed charter schools. The bill removes the provision that required the Board of Regents to approve a charter school resubmitted by certain charter entities within 30 days, and instead states that no resubmitted proposed charter shall be approved by the charter entity unless all of the Board of Regents' recommendations are addressed to the Board's satisfaction. The bill also specifies that a charter shall not be approved if the Board of Regents recommends that it be abandoned.
