AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to the New York state district attorney and indigent legal services attorney loan forgiveness program
AI Summary
This bill expands the eligibility period for indigent legal service attorneys to receive certain loan forgiveness from 6 years to 8 years after completing their second year of employment. It also increases the maximum annual loan reimbursement for these attorneys from $3,400 to $8,000 per year, subject to available funding.
