Bill Summary
AN ACT to amend the social services law, in relation to the fingerprinting of prospective employees of child day care centers

This bill amends the Social Services Law to allow the Department of Education to forward the criminal history record and fingerprints of prospective child day care employees or volunteers who have been cleared by the Commissioner of Education to the Commissioner of the Office of Children and Family Services for the purpose of conducting a criminal history record check. The bill also authorizes the Division of Criminal Justice Services to provide subsequent criminal history notifications directly to the Commissioner of the Office of Children and Family Services after the prospective employee has been cleared for employment.
