AN ACT to amend the social services law, in relation to the fingerprinting of prospective employees of child day care centers

This bill amends the Social Services Law to allow the Department of Education to forward the criminal history records and fingerprints of prospective child day care employees or volunteers who have been cleared by the Commissioner of Education to the Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS). It also authorizes the Division of Criminal Justice Services to provide subsequent criminal history notifications directly to the OCFS Commissioner once the prospective employee has been cleared for employment.
